Milestone – Midwest Alarm Services celebrates 50 years as a NOTIFIER distributor

NOTIFIER 50

Midwest Alarm Services has been an authorized NOTIFIER distributor since 1964 making us one of the most established NOTIFIER distributors in the world.  NOTIFIER was founded in 1949 by Oliver T. Joy in Waverly, Nebraska, and has grown to become the largest manufacturer of engineered fire alarm systems with over 400 distributors worldwide.  We share their commitment to products and partnerships which is what propels us to stand proudly above the rest.

Low-Frequency Sounder Bases are now available from Notifier

Low FrequencyThe National Fire Protection Association required the use of Low-Frequency Sounders in 2014 with the adoption of the 2010 NFPA 72. Studies have shown these devices are better able to wake sleeping residents, especially younger and older residents as well as some with a hearing or alcohol impairment. NOTIFIER and Midwest Alarm Services now offer you three options to meet the low-frequency notification requirements of NFPA 72.

  • New Low-Frequency Sounder Bases are now available for municipalities that mandate them or for residential facilities that wish to provide a higher level of safety.
  • New UL Low-Frequency listing of the Voice Evacuation Systems for those applications.
  • Low-Frequency sounders and sounder-strobes.

The availability of sounder bases and the UL low-frequency listing of the Voice Evacuation System, combined with the previously offered low-frequency sounders and sounder-strobes enables NOTIFIER Life Safety and Emergency Communication Systems to be used in any application requiring low-frequency audible requirements. Whether simple horn/horn-strobe applications, for applications requiring programmable sounder bases, to emergency voice evacuation applications requiring low-frequency voice compatibility, NOTIFIER and Midwest Alarm Services have it covered.

Please contact your local Midwest Alarm Services branch for additional information regarding these applications.

Keeping track of "all those different inspections"

As most facilities managers know, many of the systems in a building require preventative maintenance and inspections by state and local authorities.  As codes change testing requirements can change, as well making the situation even more difficult to stay in compliance.  With so many systems to try to keep track of, on top of day to day duties, the task can sometimes seem a bit daunting.  Midwest Alarm Services offers a life safety systems solution to bundle all of these services together. Fire Alarms, range suppression systems, automatic sprinkler systems, and portable extinguishers are the critical components to protect lives and property.   To learn more about the required frequency of testing these systems in your building, contact your local Midwest Alarm Services branch or find us online at www.midwestalarmservices.com.
