Dustin Smyth - President Dustin has been with Midwest Alarm Services serving as President since 1998. Before coming to Midwest Alarm Services, Dustin was with Simplex as a Building Systems Sales Representative. Dustin retired from the Des Moines Fire Department after spending seventeen years with them; eight as a Firefighter and nine in the Fire Marshal's office. Dustin is NICET Level IV certified as well as being certified as a Fire Prevention Office through the National Fire Academy. Dustin currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Independent Fire Alarm Distributors as well as being a member for the last five years. Dustin is also a member, as well as being a past President, for the Hawkeye State Fire Safety Association. Dustin has an Associates of Science degree in Marketing from Des Moines Area Community College.
Brian Jarnagin - System Sales Brian has been with Midwest Alarm Services as a Sales Representative since 1999. Before coming to Midwest Alarm Services, Brian was with Communications Engineering Co. for two years as a Systems Engineer. Brian was with Simplex for ten years as a Senior Technical Representative prior to Communications Engineering Co. Brian is a graduate of Dale Carnegie Sales Training and is NICET Level IV certified. Brian holds an Associates of Science Degree from National Educational Center.
Rob Walton - System Sales Rob has been with Midwest Alarm Services since 1997 as a sales representative and project manager. He has 14 years experience in the fire alarm industry with a strong technical background. Rob is licensed in Iowa City to design, install and service fire alarm systems and holds training certificates from NICET – Level II, Automatic Fire Alarm Association, Notifier, National Fire Protection Association, Pem-All and Ansul. Large projects Rob has managed include Great River Medical Center in Burlington, IA, Mayflower, Hillcrest, Burge, Daum, Reinow, Quadrangle and Parklawn Residence Halls in Iowa City, IA, Wells Fargo Financial in Des Moines, IA and currently Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines, IA.
Blaine Stevens - System Sales Blaine Stevens has been with Midwest alarm services as a Sales Representative since 2001 . Blaine was with Simplex for seven years as a Building Systems Sales Representative before coming to Midwest Alarm Services. Previous to Simplex, Blaine was in the passenger elevator industry in construction and sales for over five years. Blaine holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Buena Vista University. Blaine is also a graduate of Dale Carnegie Sales Training and holds a single engine private pilots license. Blaine is NICET level II certified.
Roger Nightingale - System Sales Roger has been with Midwest Alarm Services as a Sales Representative since 2002. Roger was with Simplex for over eleven years as a Building Systems Sales Representative prior to coming to Midwest Alarm Services. Roger has also served ten years in industrial maintenance and industrial product sales and is also a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker. Roger is NICET level II certified and holds an Associate in Arts Degree from Black Hawk College.
Doug Richard - Account Executive Doug has been with Midwest Alarm Services as a Sales Representative since 2002. Prior to coming to Midwest Alarm Services, Doug was with Johnson Controls for one year and with SimplexGrinnell as a Service Manager and Sales Representative for six years. Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Iowa. Doug is also a graduate of Dale Carnegie Sales Training.
Chuck Whittlesey - Account Executive Chuck has been with Midwest Alarm Services as a Sales Representative since 2003. Before coming to Midwest Alarm Services, Chuck was the President of J & L Time Company Inc. for over nine years. Chuck was with Simplex for sixteen years prior to J & L Time Company Inc. as a Service Technician and then as a Business Product Sales Representative. Chuck is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Sales Training and graduated from Gateway Electronics College.
Bobbi Phillips - Operations Manager Bobbi has been with Midwest Alarm Services as Operations Manager since December of 2003. Prior to Midwest Alarm Bobbi was a Dispatcher for Simplex for seven years. Bobbie brings seven years of experience in the fire alarm industry. Previous to the fire alarm industry Bobbi has a background in accounting.
Brian Kramer - Project Manager Brian has been with Midwest Alarm Services as a Project Manager since October of 2001. Before coming to Midwest Alarm Services, Brian was with Simplex for over eight years as a technical representative. Before joining Simplex, Brian was with Texas Instruments almost seven years as an Engineering Technician. Brian holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Maintenance from Indian Hills Community College. Brian has achieved NICET Level IV Status.
Steve Casteel - Project Manager Steve has been with Midwest Alarm Services as a Project Manager since the summer of 2003. Before coming to Midwest Alarm Services, Steve worked at The Waldinger Corporation for three years as their Integrated Building Systems Manager. Before The Waldinger Corporation, Steve worked at SimplexGrinnell as a Project Engineer. Steve is NICET Level II certified and holds a B.S.B.A in Information Systems from Drake University.
